Committee on Economic Affairs conducts Public Hearing on the Proposed Ordinance for the Guiuan Foodcourt (“Comedor”).
Hon. Eric Cordero, Committee Chairman of the Tourism, Trade and Industry and Economic Affairs Committee spearheaded the Public Hearing to consult the public and the different stakeholders of the Foodcourt which include the occupants of Carenderias, interested applicants, and from other sectors. Also in attendance were the other members of the Committee, Hon. Aldous B. Sison, Hon. Dale C. Somoray, and Hon. Antonia R. Cablao. The Municipal Vice-Mayor Hon. Veronica C. Ramirez and Hon. Carlito S. Abrugar, Jr. joined the Public Hearing too. Miss Kinna Kwan, the Municipal Administrator and other members of the Local Economic Development Council (LEDC) were also in attendance.

The budget season has started and as with the national government, the Annual Budget for FY 2024 of the Municipality of Guiuan is on its grind. The formal start of the budgeting process started with teh Budget Call from the Local Chief Executive which signaled the submission of Budget proposals for FY 2024 from the different departments. This is followed by the Annual Planning-Budget-Procurement Synchronization Workshop. An activity that was conceptualized a year ago during the budget deliberation process for fiscal year 2023.
